Telling Tales: Week 5

As I’ve decided from the concept making of the animation, I wanted to make the background and the character in two different kind of styles to create the idea that the character is actually in her own imagination but not the real world. I tested out a few techniques, which are maker pens, water colours, and brushes in Photoshop, which I found that the water colour worked the best, as it creates the feeling of a fine quality children’s story book, again matching the atmosphere of the story at the same time.

So here are the backgrounds I created by water colour, the sky and the road where the bus went through in the last scene of the animation. They were both painted with a thick brush that blends the colour quickly and smoothly, the clouds were created by remaining blank spaces on the paper.
